We are seeking a Retail Management professional with 5+ years of luxury retail or hospitality experience and an innate sense and passion for floral and interior design.     General Management Responsibilities
    • Responsible for all aspects of management, operations and sales performance for the retail location

    For three generations, Winston Flowers has been the premier boutique florist and garden retailer in the Boston area. From the beginning, our mission has been to beautify and enliven both the indoor and outdoor environments where we live, work, and relax.

    As part of this mission, Winston Flowers offers garden design and installation services to our residential and commercial customer base. We are seeking creative and motivated individuals to provide the creativity, technical expertise and leadership skills to successfully execute the Winston aesthetic in outdoor environments.

    Job Responsibilities
    • Lead and participate in landscape installations, directing the activities and productivity of landscape installation team on-site 
    • In collaboration with the client, Creative Director and Garden Design General Manager, create plantings consistent with Winston Flowers standards and aesthetic
    • Consult with clients regarding their landscape, including small garden spaces, container plantings and roof decks and assist with product selection to best suit the environment and space
    • Create client proposals and follow up with clients to ensure 100% satisfaction
    • Responsible for maintaining daily standards in all operations, including materials, supplies, team performance and company vehicles

    Candidate Attributes
    • Bachelor’s degree in horticultural field or equivalent work experience is required
    • Candidate must have 1-4 years of hands-on experience in installation of in-ground landscaping; container planting experience is additionally beneficial
    • Advanced horticultural knowledge for Zones 5 and colder
    • Previous experience leading a planting installation team is preferred

    Job Responsibilities
    • Effectively upholds the service standards of Winston Flowers, driving sales by using a consultative approach to create customized product presentations to wedding and special events clients 
    • Conceptualize and execute all design projects; designs incorporating effective and innovative use of colors, floral materials, vessels and accent materials, while meeting established criteria for Winston Flowers aesthetic and cost of goods
    • Coordinate efforts of the production design and delivery support team to uphold Winston Flowers design and service standards at event setup
    • Work cooperatively with Events Coordinators to compose clear and concise client proposals, communicate updates and proposal revisions and other pertinent information to ensure seamless service to client
    • Partner with select third party vendors for overall event design concepts; linens, lighting, rental items, etc.
    • Prepare hard goods and floral product needs and submit to Buyers and Inventory in a timely manner to manage product needs; responsible for maintaining company standards in cost of goods
    • Work with Operations Manager to plan for event logistics and labor needs
    • Maintain timely correspondence during sales process with client and vendors, and responsible for follow-up communication to clients to ensure complete satisfaction
    • Working cooperatively with the Director of Special Events and sales teams to build new client relationships and developing prospects through networking and maintaining relationships with event and party planners, catering managers, etc.

    Job Responsibilities
    • Complete any of the following gardening activities either on-property or at client site on a daily basis: annual, perennial, shrub and tree planting, weeding, mulching, deadheading, bed-edging, watering, soil amending, spring & fall raking and cleanups, aesthetic and horticultural pruning
    • Loading and unloading of trucks with heavy plant materials, tools and supplies

    Candidate Profile
    • Must have a valid drivers license with clean driving record free of violations
    • Good knowledge of the Fairfield County/New York Metro area is very helpful; ability to read a map and/or operate GPS unit is required
    • Previous experience in luxury service or hospitality industry preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and a high level of enthusiasm and self-motivation
    • Self directed, with the ability to multi-task
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

    Maintenance Associate – Full-Time; Greenwich

    Job Responsibilities
    • Process floral product and put in appropriate container for storage or display
    • Ensure that public and work areas are clean and easy to work in by performing tasks that include, but not limited to, emptying trash barrels, sweeping, mopping, cleaning rest rooms and windows, checking and replacing light bulbs as needed
    • Organize, rotate and clean floral cooler, including bleaching on a regular basis
    • Stock and organize shelves in work and storage areas; ensure vases and other hard goods are clean and in saleable condition
    • Ensure cash wrap is always fully stocked with packaging supplies
    • Unload and unpack floral, plant and hard goods shipments from Boston Design Studio
    • Prepare cash and carry mixed bouquets on a daily basis
    • Make client deliveries and assist in event and party setups as needed
    • Assist manager and staff with other special projects as business needs require
    Candidate Attributes
    • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as a member of a team
    • High level of self-motivation coupled with the ability to take direction as needed
    • Previous experience in nursery or floral industry is desired, but not necessary
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
    • A working knowledge of the Fairfield County and surrounding area is helpful; ability to operate a GPS and read a map is required
